Singing for Lung Health

Research has shown that singing is beneficial to people with lung conditions of all kinds, including pulmonary fibrosis.

Singing for Lung Health TCH is affiliated with the British Lung Foundation, and provides specialised weekly singing sessions in Maidenhead and Bracknell for people with chronic lung disease to help them better self-manage their chronic conditions. The sessions help to develop better breathing strategies, correct postural tension and build stamina, whilst also having fun and meeting people with similar conditions.

It is run by Tara Chapman, qualified singing teacher and trained in the specialist requirements of breathing exercises for different lung conditions.

A real benefit for people with ILD/PF conditions, the classes support postural relaxation which can help to reduce anxiety and ease shallow breathing.

You don’t have to be a singer to benefit! You can do as much or as little you can manage.

Sessions are currently on Zoom: Wednesday 12.45 for start at 13.00 (one hour) or Thursday 12.45 for start at 13.00 (one hour).
